Bug fixes¶

adopt an already-merged back-merge PR on resume (#3331) pr_for_branch returns open PRs only, so back-merge-bump's merged-PR path never ran: a resume after the back-merge merged fell through to checkout -b on the existing release/post- branch and failed. Fall back to closed_pr_for_branch, as prepare does for the release PR (#2998), and adopt a MERGED PR. Read the bumped version from pull//head, which outlives a deleted head branch. A closed, unmerged PR is not adopted. The tests now model the open-only contract of pr_for_branch. Ref #3328
